Saved and Bible Knowledge
If you have accepted Jesus as your savior, trusting him only to get you to heaven and not on any works you have done and believe he died on the cross and rose again the third day, then you are truly saved. Praise the Lord. You have a home in heaven waiting for you.
So you clicked on the link that said you also study your Bible. So there is no way to know more than that about you but that is excellent that you study your Bible. There are so many Bible versions out there and so many interpretations of what the Bible says, it can get confusing to the best Bible students sometimes. It can also be difficult to be objective and believe just what the Bible says when we hear so many things from pastors, radio, TV, books, friends, etc. We can be easily influenced and confuse what we have read or heard with what we have actually learned from the Bible. That does't mean you shouldn't believe anything you hear or read from others but honest people will tell you to confirm what they tell you by checking it out in the Bible. The Bible says that those Christians in Berea were more noble than those in Thessalonica because they searched the scriptures daily to see if the things they were being taught were true.
Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Hear are some topics and situations you might want to take a look at just to check yourself:
- Salvation, what does it really mean? Can I loose it?
- Am I using the best Bible? Does it make a difference?
- Baptism. Why should I be baptized? Does the method or location or person doing the baptism matter?
- Church membership. Why should I go to church? Which church? Should I join?
- How can I serve the Lord?
There are so many topics and so much to learn that we will never know it all but God wants us to continue studying our Bible all our life and always learning.
2 Timothy 2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
We all need help in understanding the Bible but we need to be extremely careful in what other people say or write because there is so much false information out there. Always check what you hear with what the Bible actually says. You will find a lot here being added all the time and we try to make sure we explain things using the Bible because it is its own best interpreter. Just make sure you are using the right Bible.
